  • Compact Disc (CD) + Digital Album

CD album in a digi-pack case, featuring artwork by Coll Hamilton and the design by Oli Bentley of Split.co.uk

'I saw the trio play at the London Jazz Festival last year and was absolutely mesmerised. They have an incredible use of effects, especially on both the saxophone and guitar which results in a really expansive sound.’ - Seonaid Aitken, Jazz Nights on BBC Radio Scotland

'This is an album that could form the lyrical soundtrack for a beautiful film and the sense of groundedness, collaborative questing and restrained emotional intensity makes one curious as to where Chung and the Glasshopper crew’s travels might take them in future.’ - Fiona Mactaggart, Scottish Jazz Space

'The type is based on the labels from historical the butterfly and insect collections. We visited the Discovery centre in Leeds as part of our initial research – this mad museum warehouse with the most incredibly juxtapositions of objects from thousand-year-old stone tools, to a giant model squid, to creepy Victorian Dolls, Egyptian mummies, 1950’s TV sets and a veritable arc full of of stuffed animals, all packed on the shelves next to each other.

Among all of this, are hundreds of drawers of old bug and butterfly collections, with these beautifully detailed cards and labels in the meticulous hand of their curator. Whist the main visuals for the album moved on from our initial thoughts with Coll’s beautiful portraits, the typography still gives a nod these labels, and to all the metaphors we spoke about early-on with Jonny – adding a delicacy against the rougher edges of drawings I felt was important to maintain.'

Sky Circle 06:46
---------------- Words by Rumi The way of love is not a subtle argument. The road there is devastation. Birds make great sky circles of their freedom. How do they learn? They fall, and falling, they’re given wings. ----------------

Ember 02:22
--------------- Stay, Stay bright for me please don't burn away You were once my flame, just an ember now Flickering light, whispers that you might not stick around please don't leave me now. You kept me warm I can keep you light, just give me some time Too late now you're gone Alone, shadows form from the ash smoke grows into the air You were never there. ---------------

----------------- Cross your bridges as you come to them. Burn the down, build again. You've got nothing to show for, Except memories of smoke and watered eyes. You'll be fine, just get over it. Ash will burn. But the will blow it away. Until then, build a bridge and get over it My friend. ------------------ Lyrics adapted by text from Tom Stoppard's 'Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead'
